75 Inspiring short stories about young people who are accomplishing great things at an early age.
By John Martin
2 Billion Under 20 by Stacey Ferreira and Jared Kleinert presents 75 brief stories of Millennials who are making a difference in the world. The authors are the co-founders of an organization by that name and are themselves quite young (Ferreira is 22 and Kleinert is 19.) Their definition of millennial is “anyone under the age of 21, but some of their examples are slightly older. The examples come from all over the globe and while they emphasize technology, a number have done work in non-technical areas. The book is divided into five sections: start, risk, journey, learn and success, with each story in each section focusing on that topic. Each commentary is written by the person and begins with a single paragraph about the person and is followed by three or four pages detailing what the person is doing. A lot of the Millennials are involved with technology and are entrepreneurial, but some are not.

In this book we meet such persons as a nine-year-old boy who built a cardboard box games arcade from boxes at his father’s shop, a female Canadian equal rights advocate who created “Spirit Day” on which people wear purple to show their support for LBGT issues and stand up to homophobic bullying, a 19-year old boy who built a nuclear fusion reactor, a boy who does not write about himself, but rather what he learned from a 70 plus year old man, a girl who developed the ASSET model for teenage wellness, and host of other creative, innovative young people. The book makes clear that in the modern, interconnected technological world, virtually anything is possible and the traditional routes to success are no longer the only ones. I would also add that while the book features young people, it can inspire people of any age to pursue their dream.

I rate it at four, rather than five, stars because the stories are too short to get more than a cursory view of the person and his/her accomplishments.

If you live with, work with, interact with or are yourself a millennial, this book is for you.
By Shane
I've always said that youth are not just the future, they are the present! This book, which has a rightful place on every family bookshelf around the world, is a concrete depiction of what happens when teens feel they are allowed to follow their dreams.

just an inspirational book if you just starting your entrepreneurship journey
By Gummy Bear
Not really a know-how book, but a set of short one page founder stories. Maybe inspirational for very young entrepreneurs just starting out with some basic wisdom and tips.
